The Conversion of the Wallet
A new sermon series called, "What's In Your Wallet?" rifts off the funny commercial about a certain credit company. However, we realize money can be a sensitive topic to bring up in church. Reality is, how we manage our money reveals what is in our hearts. Pastor Jim eloquently walks us through a familiar story in the New Testament, a guy named Zacchaeus, whose heart was not in the right place, yet Jesus brought spiritual and financial peace on household.

Proverbs 14:30 says: "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." Envy resents God's goodness in the life of others and ignore God's goodness in our own lives. Therefore, we should stop comparing ourselves to others and their highlights. Listen as Pastor Jim unpacks how our modern interpretation of envy is "judging a book by its covers."

    #BirdsOfAFeather
You have heard the expression "birds of a feather, flock together;" It simply means we hang around people who are similar likes, appearance, and behaviors. Proverbs gives us a similar saying: "Walk with the wise and grow wise, for a companion of fools suffers much harm." Pretty straightforward. We should be wise in the friends we choose to hang around. However, what about those difficult people in our lives...or better yet, the modern day "sinners and tax collectors" no one wants to associate with. Pastor Jim unpacks this friendship issue, take a listen.

    Running From God
Running is in our nature. When we bump up against something we don't like--we tend to run. Jonah was no different. Jonah ran from his mission. He ran by sailing on boat in the opposite direction of his mission. We, too, might be sailing in the wrong direction. Listen as Pastor Jim unpacks Jonah chapter 1.
