Buried by Faith
As we wrap up our sermon series on the life of Joseph, we recognize that endings matter. By the end of the story, we come to the death and burial of Joseph -- but Joseph knew his death was not the end of the story. Instead, he wanted to make sure his bones were taken with the Israelites to the Promised Land. That God would remember his people and keep his promises. We, too, whether in life or death, should have the confidence that our end is really not the end!

    Family Reunion
Nothing is better than a good story of sibling rivalry...like Adidas and Puma? Yep, both companies were born out of tension between two brothers that led to a split in the companies. Joseph, too, had some tension with his brothers (remember when they sold him into slavery and told their dad he had died?) Now, Joseph was the second most powerful man in Egypt and his brothers were on their way to Egypt to collect food during the famine. Joseph could have employed his power on his brothers, instead Joseph knew forgiveness was more about God than about him. We, too, can learn the freedom of forgiveness.

    A Dream Job
For the past few weeks we have been walking through the story of Joseph and his hopeless places -- but where God remained faithful to him. Last time we left Joseph he was stuck in prison (for two more years), until Pharaoh had a dream... In this dream, Joseph was able to interrupt and find a solution to the problem. Joseph then landed the second-in-command in all of Egypt. A dream job! Yet, Joseph was shaped by God in prison, even on top of the world, Joseph continued to be shape by God.

    Living the Dream
Are you living the dream? What does it look like to live the dream? As we continue to look at Joseph's story -- Joseph, too, was a dreamer. No, not dreaming in his head; Joseph could really interrupt dreams that God inspired in him. God's version of the dream might not look like our version of the dream as Joseph found out when he was sitting in jail. Maybe the real question we need to ask: Does our dream lead us closer to Jesus?

    From Penthouse to Prison
As we continue in the story of Joseph, Pastor Nate explains that very decision we make is apart of the story we are telling. Joseph had several decisons to make (some he didn't event want to make) and he wanted his story to be consistent with the choices he has already made.

    Interlude
In the story we find ourselves today, we pause from Jospeh's story and focus on Judah and his daughter-in-law, Tamar. It's a tough story to read but when we realize that Joseph was not part of Jesus' linage rather its Judah and Tamar...we realize that in the midst of brokenness God can break through and restore. God delights in redeeming broken people and factured families.

    Faithfulness in a Fractured Family
We being a message series on the life of Joseph. The story of Joseph is richer than a musical or movie about his life. The compelling story is told through 13 chapters in Genesis, more than any other story in the book of Genesis. As we read his story, we soon realize that is family is broken and messed up. Yet, God used the brokenness of this fractured family to bring wholeness later in life. God can even bring mending and healing to your families brokenness and fractures, too!
