We Need More Doxology
We need more doxology, not more cowbell. To end our time with the Lord's Prayer, we look at the end of the prayer, "for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." Your not going to find it in Matthew 6, but rather we find it through tradition. Doxology is praising God and that's a good thing. So listen to find out more on this last line in the Lord's Prayer.

    Temptation and Deliverance
We may find that relying on willpower alone could be foolish. For instance, not surfing on the internet for fun when you're suppose to be working. Willpower is a lot like the prayer Jesus prayed, "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Hey prayed that we would not be tempted. God does not tempt us, but we often come up to the proverbial 'line in the sand' and if we crossed it, could fall into that temptation. Take a listen to what this line in Jesus' prayer is telling us today.

    Forgiven and Forgiving
Prayer changes us, and that's a good thing. When Jesus addressed the disciples concern of how to pray, he led them in the Lord's Prayer. As we have been going line by line, we come to "forgive is our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." Or trespasses. or sins. Depending on translation. But at the heart of this prayer, Jesus wants us to forgive as God has already forgiven us.

    Acknowledge Our Dependence
As we continue to look at the Lord's Prayer,  Pastor Nate leads us through "Give us today our daily bread." Bread was a staple of the Israelites in the wilderness just as it was to Jesus audience. This line of the prayer, therefore, was about declare their dependency on God for al there needs and trust him to provide.

    Heaven On Earth
As we continue to look at the Lord's Prayer line by line, we come to these words, "...your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven." These are powerful words to pray. Ultimately, heaven on earth is achieved when we put aside our own will and seek the will of God.

    Disturbingly Good News
    Series: Behold
Even good news can be a little unsettling. A new boss at work. Discovering you are pregnant with your first child. The start of a new year. The same news that some receive as good, others may receive as less than good. King Herod did not take kindly to the Magi's news of a "newborn king." After all, he was the King. How he handles the news...well let's just say, it's disturbing.
