    The Superpower of Self-Control
In our last installment of the Fruit of the Spirit -- the ninth and final fruit is self-control. Anyone else need God's help in cultivating more self-control in your life? Strength in Gentleness
The eighth characteristic in the fruit of the Spirit is gentleness. We have very different ideas to describe gentleness from a light breeze to baby soap. Gentleness is about strength under control. It's speaking the truth but also in love (and tone). Pastor Nate gives several examples of gentleness both in the Old Testament and New Testament. Take a listen.

    Faithful or Fickle
The seventh fruit of the Spirit, and most complete number in the Bible, is faithfulness. Pastor Lisa shares stories to help us understand faithfulness in our own lives. When we are faithful, we let our "yes" be "yes" and our "no" be "no."

    Goodness
The sixth fruit of the Spirit: Goodness. What is good anyway? Philosophers have sought this answer out. We have asked, why do bad things happen to good people? Loving Kindness
Most of us would say we are nice, kind-hearted people. However there is a subtle difference in being nice and being kind. Kindness requires something of us...time, attention, devotion. Pastor Jim gives some practical examples of kindness.

    Patience is a Virtue
Who enjoys waiting in line? Yeah, I thought so. No one enjoys waiting. As we continue in "The Fruit of the Spirit," we look at patience as one of the fruits of God's Spirit. We'll quickly learn that God is patient with us first. So, we too, must be patient with others.

    Pursue Peace
Just as summer is a growing season for farmers in Chautauqua County, so we are spending our summer cultivating some fruit of our own - the fruit of God's Spirit.  And living in step with God's Spirit means that we will experience an increase peace.  This week we consider: am I pursuing peace?

    Nevertheless Joy
We continue in "Fruit of the Spirit" looking more closely at joy. The Bible is filled with illustrations of joy. In fact, the Apostle Paul wrote about joy in many of his letters to the churches even though he himself was in prison. He understood, joy was always in spite of something. That his joy was not found in his circumstances but was found in his Savior. So for us, we too, should nevertheless choose joy!

    All You Need Is Love…
As we start a new sermon series on "The Fruit of the Spirit," we start first with -- laws. Afterall, Galatians 5:23 says "Against such things there is no law." To put into context, Paul, the author of Galatians, talks about immoral behavior a few verses above. Then he gives his list of acceptable or better stated, "good christlike character" list for the Church to achieve. First on the list -- love.
